Booking and Bail in California

Whether a person has been arrested for domestic violence, DUI, DWI or any other offense the process is the same. Persons taken into custody by the Palos Verdes Police or Sheriff's Department will be held at either the Palos Verdes Police Station Jail, Sheriff's Station Jail or will be transfered to the Los Angeles County Jail (IRC) and will be kept there until their first court date called the "Arraignment." Bail is allowed to be posted in any facility 24hrs a day, 7 days a week.

Before a bail bond is turned in and accepted, the arrestee must pass a background check through "Live Scan", which is a machine that is linked to a county, state and national database. That database will notify the authorities of any possible holds, warrants, or aliases that might prevent release or increase the total bail amount of an arrestee. Once the results of the Live Scan come back from the various government agencies, that person is then "cleared" to bond out. At this time, a jailor will review and accept a Bail Bond for an arrestee and release them on the Bail Bond.

From the time a Bail Bond is turned in, it takes between 30 minutes and 3 hours for a release depending on the facility where the person is being held. Release times do vary based on the workload of the Palos Verdes jail's staff as well as the type of facility. Once out, a person will need to complete his or her part of the paper work, take a picture, and make sure to show up to each and every court date thereafter. It is recommended that you hire a Palos Verdes criminal defense lawyer as soon as possible.

More about c

In addition to being bail bonds agents we are proud members of the Palos Verdes community.

Palos Verdes is used to describe a group of cities located on the Palos Verdes Peninsula in southwestern Los Angeles. In 1827, Dolores Sepulveda acquired part of the Rancho San Pedro Spanish land grant, and named it Rancho del Los Palos Verdes which means 'range of green trees,' and was used primarily as a cattle ranch. The land was later sold to a group of New York investors who advertised the land for small horse ranches and residential communities. Palos Verdes Estates was the first city to be incorporated on the Peninsula and was one of the first master planned communities in the county; the other incorporated cities that came after include Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills and Rolling Hills Estates. The Peninsula has its own school district with one of the highest rated API score in California and one of the highest average SAT scores in the country. The Palos Verdes Area is well known for its beaches, but it is also known for being frequented by runners, horseback riders, hikers, surfers, scuba divers, bird watchers and bicyclists. The are used to allow nude sunbathers until 1994 when the city passed an ordinance outlawing the use of the beaches in such a way. Palos Verdes is infamous for its beaches, the most notable being Lunada Bay, said to be able to rival Sunset Beach, Hawaii on a good day. The area is also home to man notable attractions; The South Coast Botanic Garden was an open pit mine from 1929 to 1956, but is today a botanic garden for tourists and residents, the Point Vicente Lighthouse is located in the area and is among the National Register of Historic Places, Point Vicente Park, a popular place to watch the migration of gray whales to and from their breeding point in Baja California, and also the wreck site of the Dominator, a freighter that had run aground in 1961 and was a popular attraction for many years for those who wished to brave the trail down the cliffs to the shoreline, however, today very little is left of the wreckage. The Peninsula also calls itself home to a large number of golf courses and country clubs which attract a number of wealthy residents to the area.
